Prepare for another soggy day in the Portland area Friday, says the National Weather Service.

A flood watch is in effect for northwest Oregon and southwest Washington until 10 p.m. tonight.

The weather service says rainfall totals for the coast, coast range, Cascades and Cascade foothills will range from 3 inches to 8 inches.

Rainfall totals for inland valleys will range from 1 inch to 3 inches. Johnson Creek and the Clackamas River are expected to reach or approach flood stage.

Look for mild temperatures Friday with daytime highs topping out in the mid 50s.

More rain is on the way Saturday, but conditions dry out by Sunday.

Johnson Creek remained high near its intersection after a reprieve from heavy rains Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, in Portland, Ore. Residents in the Portland area and throughout northwest Oregon and southwest Washington were pummeled by a second barrage of heavy rains on Tuesday, as rain continued to soak already saturated ground, bringing some area creeks and rivers to flood stage.
